In fact, the CEO of Sony America said, “People are having short-term thinking - the platform is not even three years old. It was $599; it’s now $399,”. They say their goal is to get customers in a 10-year plan, and they appear set in their plan. Though some game developers say that they might stop supporting Sony’s Playstation consoles, if they don’t change their plans.
Sony however does not seem to worried about the threats or losing support of their fanbase.

Now after a few months of planning a new privacy settings, they are under fire again. Only this time for forcing users to share too much info with other users! They want to phase out regional networks and to make it all one network much like Myspace.
But many people feel that it is too much of a risk to share all that info with the whole world. However you could choose limited option-though you will have to find it and choose it yourself.

However this hasn’t be comfirmed nor denied on Sony’s behalf. However many do expect that it is true, after what Sony said eariler on this year.

This model has a faster processor than the last two versions have had. In fact that is the reason it is called the iPhone 3G S. Also it has a longer battery life time, thanks to it being built for less consumation.
They upgraded their camera to 3 megal pixels and a complete new camera model. They will also have auto exposure, auto focus, and auto white blance. It also supports video and photo geotagging. You can use the camera for both photos and 30 second vga video clips.
Wi-Fi(802.11g/b) and Bluetooth(2.1) capabilities built into it.
New 3D video card, to support faster and more advance graphics. It still has a 3.5 inch widescreen, but a new fingerprint resistent coatings for the touch screen now.
The weight has increased just a tad, but exact same size and look of the original 3g model.
Newer features include compass application, voice control and accessibility features(like zooming on text, ect)
They will offer a 16GB & a 32GB version. Release date is 19th June, 2009.
